There’s an invisible ingredient hiding in millions of sofas, cushions, and curtains around the world — and it never goes away. Literally. Scientists call PFAS “forever chemicals” because they can outlast the furniture, the house, and even the people who live in it.
At Art Fabric Vietnam, we made a deliberate choice: our fabrics deliver premium performance without PFAS. Because we believe a small decision at the fabric mill can protect something far greater — the health of your clients’ families and the future of our environment.
PFAS-Free Fabric from Art Fabric Viet Nam, A Small Choice for the Great Well-being of Your Family
PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances) is a family of thousands of synthetic chemicals heavily utilized in the global textile industry. Coveted for their ability to make fabrics exceptionally resistant to water, oil, and stains, this convenience masks a devastating reality.
Nicknamed “forever chemicals,” PFAS possess a molecular bond so strong that they virtually never break down in nature. Instead, they relentlessly accumulate in our soil, waterways, and eventually, within the human body, triggering an irreversible ecological and health crisis.
Serious Health Impacts
Authoritative research from global institutions, including the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), has established alarming links between PFAS exposure and severe health conditions:
-
Endocrine Disruption: Severe interference with thyroid function and hormonal balance.
-
Immune Suppression: Weakened natural defenses, posing extreme risks to young children.
-
Oncological Risks: Increased susceptibility to kidney, liver, and testicular cancers.
-
Developmental Hazards: Adverse impacts on fetal development and maternal health.
Persistent Environmental Pollution
The persistence of PFAS places an enormous burden on the planet. These chemicals seep into groundwater and rivers, damage aquatic ecosystems, and travel up the food chain — back to our own tables. Removing forever chemicals from the environment is among the most expensive and technically complex cleanup challenges of our time. The only winning strategy is simple: don’t put them there in the first place.
